Supporting and Appreciating our Liberties
The 1st Annual Alaskan Veterans Halibut Fishing Tournament was held on 21 May 2010 in the Alaska communities of Homer, Valdez and Whittier. This event was a huge success with over 40 vessels from all three communities hosting over 250 service members to a free day of fishing.
The success of the event was not measured by the number of vessels or service members participating, but rather the success was measured by the vessel owners who unselfishly took on ALL associated costs of volunteering their services in appreciation of our nations hero's. Vessel owners were turning away paying clients to be a part of this event to show their appreciation to the Airmen, Soldiers, Marines, and Sailors of Alaska and abroad.
You don't have to be a vessel owner to display your appreciation to our service members, however, should you or your company want to help defray some of our costs for the 2nd Annual Alaskan Veterans Halibut Fishing Tournament, please contact Jack Roskind at 907-529-5174 or at AKVFT.ORG@gmail.com. I will also be more than happy to provide you with our Non-Profit 501(c)(3) tax id number.
