1st Annual Alaskan Veterans Halibut Fishing Tournament

CONGRATULATIONS TO USAF TIMOTHY HEATH AS THE OVERALL TOURNAMENT WINNER!

Welcome to the first multi-community halibut fishing tournament organized in appreciation of our Veterans of Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. .

The Alaska communities of Homer, Valdez and Whittier organized this event in recognition of our Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom Veterans for their unselfish sacrifices to keep our borders safe.  Our goal is to provide a day of camaraderie amongst fellow veterans and to allow this one day on the water help relieve the day to day stress of military life.

There is certainly something in angling that tends to produce a serenity of the mind.  ~Washington Irving
